Yes, I have been very obviously MIA the past months. While I think about TM daily I have been quite busy with the beginning of the new season and planning new goals for me and our family and new track family as well. My really big time sapper, happily so has been helping great our coaches, James Shannon,Henry Williams and Mike Gammage and a positive focused group of track parents start a new So Cal youth track team West Coast Speed .
As we begin to transition our thoughts to Junior Olympic, look for Lauren in her in new Royal and Blue. The new team colors of West Coast Speed. It was difficult to leave the team that has become synonymous with some of the fastest kids in the Nation “Quiet Fire” , but in the end we needed to begin to grow where we are planted in our own community. The community we live in,worship in and love. Los Angeles County is a very big place and where we live there wasn’t one youth track club. Until now.
I love the beginning of a new track season, a chance to do some things better, some things the same and a few things never again I don’t really have resolutions but I do mentally and in written form write goals and desires for the new season .
Taking a look at what was good for Lauren and her training with Henry. What needs improvement, what was good but always could be improved , how can I do better with the food and nutrition(that is a never ending pursuit) How to gear up for what is ahead for the better (in my case being a little bit more attentive to the important details that just must get done with Lauren and now our team).
We have had some challenges beginning a new team but none of them had to do with our great parents. We have a wonderful dedicated group of parents and with our numbers just slightly over 60 firm we are very busy making our new team “Home”.
Look for us come June and July at a track near you!
